Las seis entradas más los buses de salida L / R y Aux 1/2 se pueden grabar en pistas individuales. El 633 ofrece grabación profesional WAV sin comprimir de 24 bits y 48 kHz de 10 pistas (muestreo de 96 kHz y 192 kHz hasta seis pistas) en tarjetas de memoria Sound Devices y CompactFlash. Las dos tarjetas se pueden configurar de forma independiente, grabando material idéntico para una copia de seguridad en tiempo real o combinaciones de archivos MP3 con WAV y código de tiempo.

Alimentada por una fuente de alimentación Quad única con tecnología PowerSafe™, esta alimentación funciona desde cualquiera de las cuatro fuentes de alimentación. Las fuentes puede ser CC externa (12-18 V), dos celdas extraíbles de iones de litio tipo L de Sony 7.2 V y seis baterías AA internas. El 633 cambia automáticamente de una fuente de alimentación a la siguiente cuando la energía se agota o se elimina. Con su combinación de fuentes de energía, el 633 puede funcionar durante un día completo de producción solo con baterías.

El 633 integra un generador de código de tiempo estable, compatible con todas las velocidades y modos más usados. Además del código de tiempo, el 633 admite metadatos largos en los archivos. Los metadatos se ingresan desde el panel frontal o desde un teclado USB.
